Modeling Tips from Lead Photographer Bruce Gast

There are so many modeling things on web it's hard to know which will help your career. I started 2 of the worlds first modeling websites 16 years ago and have helped hundreds models get started in their careers. In general I would say stay away from the million-model websites. Producers and the people who pick models don't have time to sift through hundreds of thousands of girls. The people who hire you know want to find models who are dependable and serious about their careers. I am not an agent, I don't charge models for jobs.I don't do the bookings. That is between you and the people who hire you. I do help you get found and know what kind of portfolios will get you noticed.

I've recently moved from So Cal to Carson and need to find a couple girls up here who want to model for little jobs that pop up in the area. You know all the big stuff is still is LA but I'm willing to help any local girls get started if they are serious. In some respects you have an advantage being away from the millions of people in L.A., New York and Las Vegas. But, still your portfolio should be world class.

I can attract castings forHollywood movies, music videos, print etc to come to you. I will help you get the right portfolio, and even some practice music videos to "get out there". I see girls on tv all the time that I took some of the first shots for. You can do it, and for sure "fame isn't going to come to you!" From there it's up to you!

If you are serious I will do a couple simple shoots so you have good enough shots impress. If you're tight on cash that's ok. I offer some cheap "test session" rates. And, I do trade... I'll help you get portfolio shots if you appear in one of my project posters, music videos, etc.

TAKE PHOTOS OFTEN This is an art form and the more time you spend in front of a camera the more relaxed and professional you will feel. .

REALIZE YOUR ACTING Everything you feel will translate through the smallest inflection on your face. If you're uncomfortable the photo will come out "frigid", if you're too comfortable the photo may look "sloppy". It's a game of numbers to take hundreds even thousands of photos every year!
